Curtin astronomer awarded prestigious Nancy Millis Medal

We would like to congratulate Associate Professor Natasha Hurley-Walker, from the Curtin University node of the International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research (ICRAR), for being awarded the prestigious 2025 Nancy Millis Medal for Women in Science by the Australian Academy of Science.

Associate Professor Hurley-Walker’s research utilises powerful supercomputers to analyse petabytes of data from Western Australian telescopes, in particular the Murchison Widefield Array, to map the southern sky in ‘radio colour’.

Associate Professor Hurley-Walker continues to inspire interest in STEM fields, reaching millions globally through her participation in outreach activities, public and media talks and documentaries.
